Iran director invited to hold class in Belgium

The 33rd edition of the Mons International Love Film Festival has invited Iranian director Reza Mirkarimi to hold a cinematic class about his latest film ‘Daughter’ in Belgium.

Mirkarimi’s ‘Daughter’, competing at the European Competition section of the festival, tells the story of a young girl who leaves her hometown in south of Iran for a half day trip to Tehran.

‘Daughter’ narrates the story of a young girl leaving her hometown in southern Iran, without the consent of her father, on a half day trip to attend a close friend's farewell party. On the way back, hazy weather changes all she's planned.

‘Daughter’ (2015) was nominated for the Best Film and the Best Director awards at the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival.

In addition to directing, Mirkarimi has been active as a writer and producer.

Launched in 1984, the Mons International Film Festival (French: Festival international du film d'amour de Mons, FIFA) is an annual film festival held in Mons, Belgium.
